Food Not Bombs is an international movement that serves free food in public spaces in protest to an economy that spends more money on jails, war, and borders than on providing healthy food to the hungry.
In cities throughout the world, autonomous, looseknit collectives organize to recover food that would otherwise go to waste and turn it into vegetarian meals to be served for free under the name of Food Not Bombs. But Food Not Bombs is not an organization as much as it is an idea: Anyone that believes food is a human right, not a privilege, can organize to make healthy food accesible to the poor.
Tijuana Comida No Bombas is a loose-knit collective of radicals seeking to bridge the gap between the local wastefulness and the immediate needs faced by homeless deportees in Tijuana. Each Wednesday and Saturday evening we serve a free hot dinner at the cathedral on 2nd and Niños Heroes, and serve free rice and beans other evenings at Cafe A. These actions are in solidarity with all who oppose borders and militarism, and all who are affected by them.
